Claude Code tells Anthropic which files it reads, even when you use someone else's model
Disclosure note ANT-1: Claude Code's default telemetry sends size-limited file-content fingerprints, with device and session ids. Still present on the newest release we retested, build 2.1.312, on 27 October 2026; also reproduced on 2.1.303 on 19 October 2026. File contents are not sent. Severity: Medium.
